My research is focused on botanical studies in the Great Basin region. Currently, I am researching terminal Pleistocene hunter-gatherer adaptations in the Escalante Valley, south-central Utah. Noting that hunter-gatherer adaptations have dominated the human evolutionary trajectory, I take an evolutionary perspective on human behavior. Of additional interest are, cultural ecology, political ecology, and the relationship of biota in social (power) and interpersonal (kin/family) relationships.
